Chapter 8 - THE HAIREleanor’s hair grew back.

Slowly.
For months one side remained shorter.
At first she wore scarves.
Then stopped.
A friend asked:
“Why not even it out?”
Eleanor looked in the mirror.
“I don’t want to yet.”

A year later she entered a salon.
The stylist asked:
“How short?”
Eleanor smiled.
“Surprise me.”
She left with a silver bob.
She loved it.
That afternoon she placed the severed lock Vanessa had cut into an envelope.
Not displayed.
Not worshipped.
Stored beside the recorder.
